Luna died.

I'll make this short because I really don't like the fact that she is dead now :s We really miss her. She was a very special puppy, that we thought she was going to be with us like until adopted, and she was growing so fast, she was a happy, playful girl. She was ok!! So I don't know why she got ill from one day to another. She seemed so healthy.

I really don't remember the day she died. She died at the vet because I found her screaming and on the floor, she couldn't stand up. I picked her up, I was so freaking nervous. I thought she was going to die in my arms, so I shake her a little bit for her to respond and open her eyes. I called my vet, and didn't picked the phone. So I called my friend to call another vet and he picked the phone, so I without conductor's license [because my mom wasn't here or dad-I only have the beginner's for now] and went to that vet. Then I called my mom an told her. Luna was so weak, she had an intestinal infection. She died the day after at 2 pm :s I miss her, but we knew she is in heaven. It all cost $225 that me and my mom paid, making an effort, thinking that she was going to be okay.

All of this cost a lot of money. And we want to continue, because we know these thing might happen often, this just have to make us more powerful to continue, and not let this happen to more homeless animals.

With all of your help this can be more fast, and things like this will happen, less. Please help with a donation, it doesn't matter how much or how little it is! All that matters is that with that donation you can help save an animal's life! So please, you can contact us for more information about how to make a donation. Email us here

New rescued puppy!

One of my cousins, Judith, called me on Tuesday telling me that a puppy girl (the puppy is like 1 month and few months) appeared at her house and she can't keep her. So she asked if she could bring her here so I can give her shelter, home, food, medications, worm medication, etc. The doggie has scabies [an infection/no hair in some parts of the body with some itchy red spots] in her tail and in one leg. Yesterday I gave her one shot [injection] for the treatment for the scabies and today I wormed her, just in case. She is more playful than the first day she was here [Tuesday] she also didn't wanted to eat, just drank water, but yesterday and today she ate very well :) and I'm so happy and proud of it. And well I named her: Luna (Moon, in English) She's very cute and lovely and playful. We will take her to the vet soon, when we have enough money, because we have on list to spay 5 more dogs, and that cost a lot. Luna will be soon ready for adoption. Please people to DONATE, send an email or leave a comment and we'll talk to you so you can donate to us, please. Or just send a money order payable to:

Update

The first owners of Blackie, this cute black doggie that was adopted on December 26 gave them to me again like one week ago. Carla called and told me that she had to urgently go to the US because her mom was going to an urgent surgery. I was sad because her daughter loved Blackie...but well she was responsible and called me because she couldn't afford with money to take the dog with them and is possible that they won't come here again to Puerto Rico. So she told me to find a home for him, again. I know that it's not psychologically good for Blackie and for her daughter, but I couldn't leave the dog with me, though I have 6 dos, 1 cat, 2 ducks, 1 rooster, 1 hen, and 2 rabbits & it's a lot of money, so it was hard to afford all of them. Believe that if I could let him with me, I would. But I found a lovely home for him. Last Monday January 12, 2009 he was adopted, and he was crazy with the young woman that adopted him and her husband, they loved Blackie. They signed everything, and now Blackie is fine again, and I hope it's forever. He is such a great dog, so pretty, lovely, funny, I don't have much words to describe him, only the feeling. I love that dog so much...I saved his life! And I feel that he's part of me and my life and I will never forget that or him. But I now know he's great, his new owner just love him so much, they told me they take Blackie wherever they go and that's a good thing. I will post a picture of him and his new owners as soon as I have it.

A PET’S TEN COMMANDMENTS

I took this from

here It's so cute, and really cute, take a time to read them.

A PET’S TEN COMMANDMENTS…

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don’t be angry with me for long and don’t lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don’t understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I’m not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can’t bear to watch. Don’t make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so. ALWAYS!

**Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God’s critters. It’s one of the saddest moments in life to live through.**

New stuff, more help we can do!/ Nuevas cosas, mas ayuda podemos dar!

We are so happy, first because soon I [Kary] will be on my Holiday vacations & will have more time to work on this and stuff, second: we know who will adopt Bimbo! and third: because we now have new stuff to sell for the charity! We have made some business cards to give to people and to let some on pet shops, pet grooming stores, veterinary clinics, etc. =] And that means more people will know about us and we'll receive more donations and more help to help these animals that need us so much! We will also sell stickers!! We have 3 different styles with different messages that soon we will post some photos of them here. The price of the stickers is $1 each. And with that money we will donate to some animal sanctuaries that need so much, we will spay/neuter dogs or cats, give more pets in adoption, make more activities, etc. We are so exited! Please never forget to tell others about us. Let make this BIG! So we can make a huge different on this animals lives. Those animals and the planet will thank us so much! And don't forget to donate, what you can, it will make a BIG good impact on a pet's life!

Abandoned Animals/Animales Abandonados

Yesterday we went to different places in Humacao, Puerto Rico to see in which area are the majority of abandoned animals. We haven't finished yet. We went to Palma Real Mall, Bo. Cataño, Pitusa, and Villa Universitaria. We have to cover more places, but we will continue everytime we can go to different areas in Puerto Rico to take pictures and see what we can do to help those animals. We want to go to different beaches, because people usually like to abandon animals on the beach, to other malls [in the back], to schools [yes, people abandon animals at schools] and in the town of every city. We took some pictures.

The mayority of these animals are located at the back of the mall. People have to understand that this put in high risk their health, the health of our children, etc. The homeless animals situation in Puerto Rico is horrible. And there are not sufficient shelters here. People have to learn more about this situation, and that is what we [animals lovers] in Puerto Rico are doing, spreading the message in all the possible ways we can. This week we'll be working on some 'posters' that we will be putting in different places of my town about the law 67 [The law for the protection of the animals] and different messages. That way we will be helping spread the message of compassion, responsibility[...] with the animals. We will be also giving some information about the importance of neutering, and spaying their pets.

These were the pictures we took of those abandoned animals. How sad.

This ones were at the back of the mall/Estos estaban en la parte de atras de el "mall"

Nosotros no hemos acabado todavía.

*Please help us in the way you can, so we can help this animals.*

Thanks/Gracias.
