Abandoned Animals/Animales Abandonados

Yesterday we went to different places in Humacao, Puerto Rico to see in which area are the majority of abandoned animals. We haven't finished yet. We went to Palma Real Mall, Bo. Cataño, Pitusa, and Villa Universitaria. We have to cover more places, but we will continue everytime we can go to different areas in Puerto Rico to take pictures and see what we can do to help those animals. We want to go to different beaches, because people usually like to abandon animals on the beach, to other malls [in the back], to schools [yes, people abandon animals at schools] and in the town of every city. We took some pictures.

The mayority of these animals are located at the back of the mall. People have to understand that this put in high risk their health, the health of our children, etc. The homeless animals situation in Puerto Rico is horrible. And there are not sufficient shelters here. People have to learn more about this situation, and that is what we [animals lovers] in Puerto Rico are doing, spreading the message in all the possible ways we can. This week we'll be working on some 'posters' that we will be putting in different places of my town about the law 67 [The law for the protection of the animals] and different messages. That way we will be helping spread the message of compassion, responsibility[...] with the animals. We will be also giving some information about the importance of neutering, and spaying their pets.

These were the pictures we took of those abandoned animals. How sad.

This ones were at the back of the mall/Estos estaban en la parte de atras de el "mall"

Nosotros no hemos acabado todavía.

*Please help us in the way you can, so we can help this animals.*

Thanks/Gracias.

The first rescue/El primer rescate

Some heart-less person threw this doggie into Karitza's brother backyard after poisoning him last Sunday. One of her brother's neighbor saw the dog and called her, telling that there was a dog in her brother's house, but it wasn't Choco or Boster [his 2 dogs]. And well, she and her mom ran to the house to see the dog. It was a dog that someone [we don't know who was] abandoned like a month ago. They always saw him running here and there. The dog was so so super weak he couldn't even stand up, they tried to stand him but he fell into their arms, so weak, but wanting to stand. It was such heartbreaking. Kary and a neighbor girl took him and putted him on a carpet so they could take him to Karitza's house. The dog's eyes were so scared. And his weakness by the other side; he was crying a lot trying to stand up so we putted him on a kennel so he could be quiet and not moving much. We gave him milk+oil [this is something people use when a dog is poisoned, idk why] in case it were a poison situation. We gave him food and water, i think he was dehydrated.

Yesterday we took him to the vet and they revised him, they said he have been poisoned and it was a miracle that he is alive. I am giving to him his medicines. Today he is walking, and full of energy now to play and jump and love. HE IS LOOKING FOR A HOME. In one week he will be able to be adopted. I will give him vaccinated and wormed.
Look his before and after:

Blackie is so cute!

And this other dog is also looking for a home [Bimbo]. They both are lovely, playful & obedient and can be with other dogs [if the other dogs not 'fighters']. Bimbo is a good guardian too. Also both can be with kids.

Thanks everyone for reading!

Why we are here & who we are/Por que estamos aqui y quienes somos.

We knew we had to do something for animals, not only for ours, but for the homeless ones. Seeing these poor animals everyday on the streets, without food, shelter and love made me create this small group of people committed to help animals. Yesterday at night I was chatting with my boyfriend and I decided to make a bank account only to receive money for this charity to help other animals and shelters/sanctuaries. I later made this blog because it is a good way to start receiving donations, etc. The people helping right now, and the ones who started this are my boyfriend Julian and myself Karitza, my mom is also helping and my dad.

We are able to receive donations in money, towels, pet toys, collars and leashes, kennels, pads, shampoos, etc. Right now we are starting so what I think what we need more now is money to start doing stuff to make this bigger and help more, but whatever will be well received! I really thanks to all people interested in supporting us, and talking about us to other people. Later you will be able to donate via paypal. But if you want, you can also send a money order payable to Karitza De Jesus.
You can send them to:

*All the money donated will be used for animals and I will share it with differents animal rescue organizations and sanctuaries/shelters*
